“Strike up for the new world” - a new ad campaign by Levi’s.
The Levi’s brand has long struggled to keep up with the likes of designer denim, and has now reverted to this strange new ad campaign that has popped up on subway billboards across New York City.
The messaging is simple - all you need for a revolution is a pair of Levi’s.
Personally, I’m tired of brands trying to sell ideals like revolution, freedom, hope, love, etc. to me. The vapid phrase “strike up for the new world” sounds like some canned idea of uprising thought up in the head of a 45-year-old marketing manager. What does it mean anyway?
When the Beatle’s song “Revolution” became Nike branded, it was the beginning of the end.
Her’es an idea - revolt against this sort of advertising.
